The Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation and Management of Anaphylaxis for Adults, Children and Infants provides essential training for individuals who may need to provide life-saving first aid in an emergency. It equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively to situations involving unresponsiveness, CPR, AED use, and anaphylaxis across all age groups.
This is a short, highly practical qualification ideal for those needing certification to demonstrate competence in basic life support and use of an adrenaline auto-injector, such as in regulated childcare settings, security roles, or community responder situations.
This course is ideal for individuals who may be required to act in an emergency where a person is unresponsive, requires CPR or defibrillation, or is experiencing anaphylaxis. It is suitable for:
Childcare Providers: Including nurseries, schools, and after-school clubs
Security Staff: Particularly those licensed under the SIA
Healthcare and Social Care Workers: Those working in care homes or community settings
Community Volunteers & First Responders: Those involved in community safety or response schemes
This is a regulated qualification and meets UK Resuscitation Council guidance. On successful completion, learners will be equipped to respond confidently in a medical emergency.
This Level 3 qualification is delivered over 4 guided learning hours in a classroom setting. The course combines practical demonstration and oral questioning to assess competence. Training includes the use of adult, child, and infant resuscitation manikins and auto-injector training devices.
Scene assessment and primary survey (adult, child, infant)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children and infants
Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Recovery position (adult/child and infant)
Recognising and managing anaphylaxis
Use of a training adrenaline auto-injector (e.g., EpiPen)
Monitoring breathing and ongoing casualty care
