Why this course?

The Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) course is a workplace first aid course in the UK that meets Health and Safety (First Aid) 1981 Regulations to be a first aider in a low-risk and high-risk workplace. The course is not only designed for workplaces, if you want to be a competent first aider then this is the perfect entry-level course for you to learn all the necessary skills to provide first aid efficiently.


Want a shorter course? Here at DVSTraining Ltd, we also offer a 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course, which is suitable for anybody looking to be a first aider in a low-risk workplace.

Who is this course for?


This course is designed for people who want to receive our most thorough first aid training. It is most suited to those working in high-risk environments, such as building sites or warehouses.

This qualification meets the requirements for training first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.

How is this course delivered?

The Level 3 First Aid at Work course is delivered in a classroom and there is a mix of theory and practical elements required to successfully complete the course. We will deliver the course In-House at your site for a group of employees.

The course consists of 3, 6 hour days giving you a total of 18 hours learning time.

  • The role and responsibilities of a first aider

  • Assessing an incident

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty

  • CPR

  • Defibrillator (Use of AED)

  • Recovery Position

  • Choking

  • Epilepsy

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Wounds and bleeding

  • Minor injuries

  • Shock

  • Heart Attack

  • Stroke

  • Head and spinal injuries

  • Chest injuries

  • Fractures

  • Sprains, strains, and dislocations

  • Burns and scalds

  • Poisoning

  • Eye injuries
